POSITION TITLE:    Plumber Foreman                                                        
POSITION LOCATION:  Facilities Management
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week
POSITION GRADE:   FSN-5  (Ugshs26,129,795 to 38,193,077
P.a. inclusive of allowances).

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under direct supervision of Facilities Supervisor, the incumbent supervises and directs a multi-trade force of 4 maintenance technicians and 1 trade maintenance helper engaged in preventive maintenance and repair of plumbing systems and associated equipment in residential quarters and government owned office buildings or leased properties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1. Education Required:  Completion of secondary school and completion of vocational training or 
apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman plumbing skills is required.

2. Work Experience:  Three years of journeyman plumbing experience is required

3. Post Entry Training: Embassy policies and procedures i.e. safety standards, security of trade equipment/tools and customer service training on how to best interact with co- worker, American staff and their spouses.

4. Language Requirement:  Level II English ability is required.

5. Knowledge: Completion of secondary school and vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman-plumbing skills is required. 

6.  Skills and Abilities:  Basic knowledge of the construction industry and use of the hand and power tools and professionally be able to determine extent of damage or problem with the experience it takes to make necessary recommendations for equipment repair or replacement. Must hold a valid Ugandan driver’s license and maintain valid medical work clearance requirements.

SELECTION PROCESS
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference.  Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1.  Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy. 
2.  Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3.  Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4.  Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
